Property Shell's Unsubscribe feature is an essential tool for managing your leads' communication preferences. This feature ensures that you comply with privacy regulations and respect the wishes of your leads by allowing them to opt out of receiving emails and SMS messages from your account.
What is Unsubscribing and Why is it Used?
Unsubscribing is the process by which a lead opts out of receiving further communications from your account. This feature is used to:
- Respect the preferences and privacy of your leads.
- Ensure compliance with anti-spam laws and regulations.
- Maintain a positive relationship with your audience by avoiding unwanted communication.
Steps to Unsubscribe a Lead
To unsubscribe a lead from receiving emails and SMS messages, follow these steps:
Select a Lead
- Click on any lead you wish to unsubscribe.
Edit Lead Information
- Click the pencil icon located in the People section at the top left corner.
Remove Communication Options
- Scroll to the bottom of the editing window.
- Uncheck the options for email and SMS communication.
Save Changes
- Click "Save" to update the lead's preferences.
Mailchimp Integration
If you have a Mailchimp integration and a lead unsubscribes from Mailchimp, the lead will automatically be unsubscribed in Property Shell.
Conversely, if you follow the steps above to unsubscribe a lead in Property Shell, their subscription status in Mailchimp will also be updated to Unsubscribed.
Why Unsubscribing is Important
The basics around this feature are straightforward: if a lead requests to be removed from any communication, this is the way to ensure they will not receive any further emails or SMS messages from your account. This not only helps in maintaining compliance with legal requirements but also fosters trust and respect between you and your leads.
By utilising the Unsubscribe feature, you can manage your communication efforts effectively, ensuring that your messages are only reaching those who are interested in hearing from you.
