Bank Reconciliation

Overview

The bank reconciliation process is designed to ensure that every transaction entered within Property Shell exactly matches what is in the bank feed. The bank reconciliation may draw out incorrect entries entered throughout the month and is a process to ensure compliance for all transactions entered.

The bank reconciliation process is typically conducted at the end of monthly processing after the bank feed for that month has been imported.

How To Do A Bank Reconciliation

  1. Go to Purchaser Payments from the left-hand menu
  2. Go to the Bank Feed
  3. From the square icon, click Bank Reconciliation

  4. Once you are at the Bank Reconciliation pop-up, you will see there the name of the account, the name of the Bank Account and the list of the transactions.
  5. Property Shell will automatically try and match these transactions where it can automatically do so and where there are no obvious similar transactions.
  6. In some cases, transactions cannot be automatically matched. In this case, click the Find And Match button against the transaction and search through the table of unreconciled transactions. Click the transactions that match and and click Reconcile
If you cannot find a logical match, it may be an issue in the entries you have created throughout the month. You may need to fix any incorrect entries made against the original properties in order to perform the bank reconciliation.

Once you have completed the reconciliation process you will be able to generate month end reporting.
